Jessica & Mark | Engaged

I recently had the pleasure of photographing newly-engaged Jessica & Mark in Knights Ferry! These two are my favorite couple on the planet, and so much fun to work with. They will be getting married in July– on their 10th anniversary! — and I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding!

Weekend in San Francisco

Last weekend, I spent some much needed time in San Francisco. It’s sad how easy it is to forget what a beautiful city lies just over the hills. In the span of two days, I watched the sunset from Alamo Square, stood front row at The Maccabees concert, and had VIP access to hang out at SFO amongst the big jet planes. Not bad.

Summertime in Big Sur

It is no secret that Big Sur is one of my all-time favorite places on earth, so to finally have the chance to spend the night there was absolutely phenomenal. Rebecca and I booked a small cabin on Highway 1, tucked away in the forest and complete with our own deck on the Big Sur River. We spent our time relaxing, sipping on the world’s best whiskey sours, roasting marshmallows over a campfire and photographing everything in sight. The perfect summer getaway.

Jessica - Beautiful photos! Just got back from there too. Ahhh….wish I could live there!

Katie - Thank you, Jessica! I wish I could live there, too! So much to do and see :)

Jess - This trip looks like so much fun. Hopefully I can visit someday. Stunning photos as always. — Jess

Escape to the HMB

It is my own personal belief that day trips are essential to happiness. Embarking on one in the middle of a drab work week makes them even sweeter. Rebecca and I decided to bolt to the coast a few days ago, and Half Moon Bay was our destination of choice.

I only recently realized how close this place is- just a hop, skip and a winding road from the bay area! We made it there in no time flat, and had a wonderful time wandering the streets of downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. We both stopped dead in our tracks a few times with “Oh my god, I feel like I’m in Arcata” moments. (Seriously, though. It’s like Arcata’s older sibling. Uncanny.)

We perused a few bookstores with creaky wooden floors, and I had a fun wishing every single adorable-as-heck house on the block was mine. Eventually, we made our way out to the ocean, then headed back home again.

Katie - Yay!!! Have fun! :)

Brittney - Seriously!!!! We live about an hour+ from HMB now and the first thing I said was that it was a mini Arcata too, mixed in with a little Fort Bragg of course. If you ever go back I for sure recommend the brewery!
